This paper aims to analyse the socioeconomic status and living conditions of women in comparison to their male counterparts, and to explore the challenges they face. A descriptive research design was adopted for the study. A total of one hundred twenty-three samples were collected through a semi-structured interview schedule, and additionally, ten women agricultural labourers were selected for FGDs. The study finds that encouraging women labourers to unite and form associations can enhance their bargaining power in negotiating fair wages and employment conditions. Moreover, addressing gender inequality in agricultural production is crucial to fully harnessing the significant role of women in advancing the nation’s agrarian vision.
